Power Ranking: June 10th-25th

Power Rankings: June 10th-25th
As the year gets later were starting to see some divisions spread themselves out and some are just starting to get good.  This week there’s been some shack up’s so lets not waste time and get right into it.
1.     Oakland A’s
2.     San Francisco Giants
3.     Los Angeles Dodgers
4.     Toronto Blue Jays
5.     Los Angeles Angels
6.     Washington Nationals
7.     Milwaukee Brewers
8.     Kansas City Royals
9.     St. Louis Cardinals
10. Detroit Tigers
Oakland is just a beast and it’s getting really hard to praise them without repeating myself over and over again.  They’ve really become the definitive World Series pick at this time and while there’s still plenty of season to go it’s looking more like its Oakland’s division to lose.  San Fran has been faltering lately but they’re just as likely to come out of this then continue.  The problem is the pitching at the moment, which was once the team’s big strength, has just been average.  This slump has come at a bad time for them and a good time for LA Dodgers who have closed the gap to within 4 games and are looking like a team that’s really clicking.  Toronto needs pitching, I’ve said this many times and it become more evident with every game the offense struggles.  LA Angels are leading the Wildcard and look like they could hold it but Seattle is picking up steam so they have to watch their backs.  Both Washington and Milwaukee have looked pretty sharp as of late and the rest of the division looks about the same as they have all year.  Both divisions have become a 2-team race and while Washington seems to have the division well in hand at the moment Milwaukee still has St. Louis nipping at their heels.  Kansas City came out of no where and capitalized on a struggling Detroit to up start themselves right back into the race, one of these 2 teams is making the playoffs maybe both.

Bottom 5
            26. Philadelphia Phillies
            27. San Diego Padres
            28. Arizona Diamondbacks
            29. Chicago Cubs
            30. Tampa Bay Rays

These teams are just really not looking good are they?  Philadelphia is just having that all around problem with hitting, pitching and fielding all really lacking making most Phillies fan’s I know cringe.  San Diego has actually had decent pitching so far but the lack of hitting is just a mystery.  They have hitters but none of them seem to be doing anything this year and most have taken a step back from last season.  Arizona keeps looking good or at least better than they were at the beginning of the season, but as bad as they were they only could go up.  Chicago is still Chicago but they pitching they’re getting right now makes them a very interesting trade candidate.  Oh Tampa Bay, what happened to this team?  Short answer injuries hurt this team early and ineffective pitching just crippled them.  The hitting has always been suspect but the pitching was always there to back them up and now that Price is on the block its only a matter of time when this team gets blown up.
